Bishop Roberts Lucas, 87, of Palatka returned to his Father in Heaven on January 31, 2025, at Shands
Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was born September 25, 1937, to the late Elijah and Becky German.
Bishop Lucas was an only child. Bishop Lucas was born and raised in Charlestown, South Carolina. He became a native of Palatka, FL in
the 1970’s where he met the love of his life, the late, Mattie Lee Lucas. They shared a long and wonderful life. Bishop Lucas cherished his wife for 40 years, at the time of her passing. Bishop Lucas was a faithful member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. Bishop Lucas who was a sweet soul that loved his Heavenly Father. He was a true and faithful friend to everyone. He genuinely enjoyed interacting with and meeting new people. Bishop Lucas was survived by his sons, Wyte Lucas of Palatka, FL, Tony Hawkins of Georgia, his daughters, Lisa Hawkins of Palatka, Kesha Hawkins of Georgia, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
