Carolyn Lucille (Fagins) Simmons

July 29, 1947 ~ August 9, 2023 (age 76)

Mrs. Carolyn Lucille Fagins Simmons was born on July 29, 1947, in Daytona Beach, Florida to the late Mr. Charlie James and late Mrs. Bernice Fagins.  She answered the Lord’s call and entered eternal rest on August 9, 2023.

Carolyn attended Volusia County Schools.  She worked and retired as a dietitian from Good Samaritan Nursing Home.  Carolyn was a faithful member of New St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Usher; on Usher Board #1.  Her hobbies were serving the Lord and eating out with her family. 

She was a faithful and loving wife to Mr. James Simmons Sr. and from that union they had Carol Fagin, Dwight Simmons (Michelle), Irvin Simmons (Nioka), Varice Simmons, Elvin Simmons (Lisa), Hozea Simmons (Consuella) and James Simmons Jr. all left to cherish her memory.  Also, left to cherish her memory are 24 grandchildren: Dwight Jr., Isiah, Irvin Jr., KeAsha, Josh, Iesha, Abree’, Eric, Erika, Eryana, Janay, Lola, Leonard, Alvin, Alden, Nyesha, Alondra, Ralphael, Kimyra, Kiara, Taylor, Sedarian, Elvin Jr., and Jaylen; 48 great-grandchildren; live in companion Mr. Arthur Lewis Walden; special friends: Mrs. Audrey Bolden and Mrs. Anna Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in eternity by her parents Charlie James and Bernice Fagins; her husband Mr. James Simmons Sr.; her sister Marilyn Fagins; her brothers: Harry and Albert Fagins; her daughter Cassandra; grandson Albert Bradshaw Jr., and a great grandson Elijah Pasley.
