Daniel Clinton Green, 78, died unexpectedly of natural causes on November 18, 2022 in his home in Sanford, FL. Daniel, born on June 12, 1944 was the third son of Dr. Arthur L and Mrs. Sue Green in Orange County, California.

 Daniel grew up in Michigan, excelled in school academically as well as athletically by wrestling and running track.  Along with his many awards and achievements he went on to become the Co-Salutatorian of his class at Belding High School. Later he studied at Michigan State University and the University of Florida. A mechanical engineer by trade Daniel would go on to invent a much needed machine part that would later receive a patent. 

As a proud member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve he walked tall. Daniel received the coveted badge as a Sharpshooter while in the Marines. Dan loved space, and any sort of aircraft. He held his pilots license but couldn’t resist skydiving out of a plane as much as flying them.  Back on the ground Dan loved the sound of the “rumble” of motorcycles and muscle cars. He especially had a penchant for green corvettes. As an intelligent, thoughtful man, Daniel also enjoyed the solitude of computers. A “techy” at heart, he was always up on the latest and greatest in electronics. He was known to create new apps for the phone, and build advanced programs for his computer.  Dan was a student his entire life and enjoyed learning and mastering new things. 

 As a proud American, he enjoyed football, large belt buckles, his boots, and Budweiser. Anyone who knew him knew Daniel had a soft spot for animals. He was quiet, patient, kind hearted, and an excellent conversationalist when the time was right.  Even though he was from the mid west, Daniel had preferred Florida because he once said, “I have sand between his my toes”. Welcome home - Semper Fidelis.

He is survived by his daughters Shari Green of Rockford, MI; Jennifer (Mark) Bugge of Castle Pines, CO; 6 grandchildren; and siblings Robert Green of Lowell, MI; Donna Sue Bolthouse of Holland, MI; Bill Green of Rockford, MI; and Lucy Ann McGraw of Kentwood, MI.
