Janet LaVerne Garner, 80, of Sanford, Florida, passed away on June 24, 2025 in Sanford. Janet was born on June 17, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to Ola Jane and Emmett. She was married to Bobby Garner, and together they built a loving family. Janet devoted her life to being a homemaker, caring for her family and sharing her love of crafting and baking. She was known for her strong will, sharp sense of humor, and unapologetic love for the things she enjoyed — listening to Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty, admiring classic GTO cars, adoring boxer dogs, and indulging her lifelong love of Disney. Janet is survived by her children, James Garner, Michael Garner, and Victoria Garner; her 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Robert Harvey, Patrick Harvey, and Robin Matthias.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lee P. Moore Park. All are invited to join the family in honoring Janet’s memory. Guests are encouraged to wear red or purple — her favorite colors — in her honor.

She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.
