Juan Raymat Mora, 80, born to Daniel Raymat and Eloisa Mora, June 24, 1942, in Havana, Cuba, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the presence of his loving family. “El Negro” came to Miami, Fl as a Bata Drummer and Drum Macker during the Mariel Boatlift in 1980. “El Negro is one of the principal figures In the history of Oricha Music in the United States, and was responsible for opening the paths for many who followed in his footsteps. “El Negro was known as “legendary” in our Cuban Community all over. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. “El Negro” was a loving and devoted father, leaving to cherish his memory; 3 daughters, Ema Raymat, Reina Raymat and Victoria; Step-daughter, Dorca Bahaquel; 2 sons, Daniel Raymat and Jose Raymat; 7 Grand-daughters, 6 Grand-sons, in US. In Cuba he has 7 daughters and 1 son; 20+ grand-children; lastly, 1 son in Venezuela, and a host of other family members and friends
