Kaylia Charlene Shaw 44, of Deltona, Florida transitioned into eternal rest on Monday November 11, 2024 in St. Andrew, Jamaica 

 Kaylia Charlene Shaw was born on January 1, 1980, in Hector’s River Portland, Jamaica, to Geoffrey Shaw and Dorett Holgate. She was the fourth of seven children. Kaylia transitioned from earthly life to a place of rest on November 11th at the University Hospital of the West Indies in the parish of Saint Andrew Jamaica. She is preceded in death by her father Geoffrey Shaw and her partner Austin Gomes III 
Kaylia spent her younger childhood years living in the Hector’s River, Manchioneal and Belle Castle. She attended Happy Grove
Preparatory and Seaside Primary School. She migrated to the US in February 1990 where she lived in New
York for a short time and then move to Deltona, Florida with her parents. She attended Deltona Lakes, Timbercrest Elementary, and
Galaxy Middle School. She returned to Jamaica for a short time where she attended Happy Grove high school. She returned to Florida and
attended Deltona high and Melbourne high where she graduated. In high school she developed a keen interest in track and field and
represented her school in several track meets. Kaylia had a love for children which was reflected in her career choice
as a medical assistant which enabled her to work at several pediatric offices. She also worked at Advent Health in Daytona Beach and
Quest laboratory for a short period of time. She is survived by her children Austin, Alejandro, Ashwin, Ajaia,
Gabevon (adopted) and parents Godfrey and Dorett McPherson. She leaves behind her siblings Bentley, Natalee, Derief, Joanne, Michael,
Simone and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins. Kaylia acquired many friends along the way due to her loving
and kind personality. However, she wasn’t afraid to voiced her opinion whether it was received or not. She will surely be missed by all those
whose lives she has touched. May her soul rest in peace.
