Luis Alberto Torres, 64 of Abington, Pennsylvania It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Luis Alberto Torres, a devoted father, loving husband, and steadfast servant of the Most High. He left this world on March 22, 2025, at Jefferson Abington Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. Born on August 11, 1960, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, Luis was the cherished eldest son of the late Alberto Torres and Rosa Maria Nieves. He is now reunited in spirit with his beloved wife, Sulma 'Stephanie' Cruz. Luis’s journey brought him to Philadelphia, where, in the late 1980s, he felt a profound calling to serve the community of Reading, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Horeb Bible Institute in 1988, he dedicated over a decade of his life as a pastor, offering support and love to those affected by HIV/AIDS, addiction, and incarceration. His career as a diesel mechanic for BARTA culminated in retirement, after which Luis poured his heart into The Table Ministry in Philadelphia, PA. He will be remembered for his generosity, unyielding kindness, love for his family, gardening, and unwavering support for the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Luis leaves behind his beloved siblings, Diana, Marisol, and George Torres, as well as his cherished children Danny Ortiz, Pedro Ortiz, Luis Alberto Torres Jr., Deborah Torres, and Damaris Torres, as well as children from his second marriage. His legacy of love is beautifully woven into the lives of 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with one more miracle on the way in June 2025, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and spiritual children. Luis was indeed a beacon of love and humility. Known for his compassionate outreach to the overlooked and marginalized, his life embodied faith and selfless love, inspiring all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and strength to all touched by his remarkable spirit.
