Mother Gwendolyn Rainge has a remarkable history and a tremendous impact on women in general, but especially those in the Women Council. She was born in McRae Georgia to Benjamin Solomon Jenkins and Lillie May Greer. She is a highly educated woman of God. She attended high school at Chisholm High school. After graduation, she attended various institutions of high learning that included, Daytona Beach Community college, the University of the District of Columbia, Howard University, and finally University of New Hampshire
Mother Rainge was married to Mr. Ralph Allen Rainge. They have two children Ramona and Donofa, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grands and 3 great-great grands. Mother Rainge endeavored to teach her children the ways of the Bible through being an example. She is a very talented woman of God. She played the organ, taught Sunday school, and conducted the senior choir as well as grant writer and civic leader. She was President of Ambassadors Race Relations with the police department in Daytona Beach Florida.
Mother Rainge has been a leader in the church and the community. She has achieved the recognition of being a Senior Missionary in the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.
Her introduction to the gospel of Jesus Christ began at Mission Baptist Church while living in McRae Georgia. In 1987, she was invited, by one of her close friends, Ethelyn Rosier, in Rock Ridge Florida to visit her church, Paradise Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Elder White. There she was introduced to a different type of worship and preaching of the gospel. After hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, she joined the church. In 1989, while attending a convention and hearing about the baptism in Jesus name, and being filled with the Holy Ghost, she was won over by the Spirit of the living God and became a member. Shortly after the convention, while at her friend's house, a most amazing thing happened that she never experienced before, she received the gift of Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
While at Refuge church of our Lord, in New Smyrna Beach Florida, under the leadership of Elder Hayward Evans, she served the Lord in various positions. Mother Rainge eventually left the sunshine state to join her daughter in the great state of Texas. There she was affiliated with Refuge church in San Antonio, Texas under the leadership of Elder Whittington. While there she served as president of the Missionary department. When her daughter, who was a soldier in the military, assigned overseas, she returned to Florida. While there, she again was appointed president of the missionary department. She also supported civic groups that were concern about equality for minorities. One of the groups she was associated with was the Concern Citizens of the Black African American Community, the NAACP, and the Freedom Fund Banquet where she served as Chairperson. She also served as co-chairperson and finally the chairperson of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in New Smyrna Beach Florida. Also, she was the founder of the Bridge Builders of South East Volusia County. They organized black and white ministries.
In 2014, she returned to the great state of Texas where again she was reunited with her daughter who lived in Harker Heights, Texas. While with her daughter in Killeen, they worship with Open Fire pastored by Elder Coffee. Although she was hearing the Word, they were not Apostolic. She hungered for that which she was comfortable with, an apostolic church of her faith. Her search for an apostolic church led her to Belton Texas where she found Holy Temple of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., pastor, Bishop William Jenkins. Here she joined in membership and continues labor for the Lord Jesus Christ. She is currently serving as the Church Mother and president of the Women Council.
Mother, Gwendolyn Rainge does not only teach holiness, she lives holiness. She continues to teach the women, young and the elderly, the importance of living by the Word of God, that is, holy and sanctified, in their homes and the communities. She stresses that living holy is not about holding and office or position. It's about serving the Lord Jesus Christ through meeting the needs of the people.
Mother, Gwendolyn Rainge continues to demonstrate a deep understanding of the apostolic faith and have the ability to communicate this knowledge and wisdom with reverence and respect for the women in the church. She has life experiences that represent stability and godliness in her character and conduct. She has the ability to help guide young women toward holiness and away from behaviors that can cause trouble in their lives and the home. She is unbending when it comes to following the rules, practices, and guidelines of the church and the organization. She continues to be of assistance with the correction and or disciple of the women as necessary.
Mother Gwendolyn Rainge is also faithful in the following: Tither, willingness to follow the pastor's vision, supportive of church events with presence and finance, demonstrates the capability of overseeing the care and functions of the women departments, and the total work of a missionary, to include the willing to support those that are hospitalized, jailed, and homes.
