Robert was born on January 2, 1950, in Welaka, Florida, to the late Curtis Williams and Henrietta Williams. A lifelong Floridian with deep roots in his community that later moved to Long Island, New York. Robert built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. Robert was a skilled landscaper whose passion for his craft spanned decades. He worked in landscaping for 12 years with Bayberry Nursery and later continued independently for over 30 years. Landscaping was more than a job to Robert—it was his passion. He took great pride in the satisfaction he brought to his clients through his finished work, and his commitment to excellence was evident in every project he completed.
On August 3, 1998, Robert married Mari Gholson-Williams, in New York. Together they shared 27 years of love, partnership, and devotion.
Robert was known as a kind and respectful man. No one had a harsh or unkind word to say about him. He was a great father and an excellent grandfather, adored by his family. His calm presence, steady character, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mari Gholson-Williams of New York; his Daughter Henrietta Williams of Jacksonville, Florida: Son, Robert Williams Jr. (wife, Michelle) of Jacksonville, Florida. Step Daughters and Kendra Gholson of Long Island, New York; and Yolanda Graham (Alfred) of Deltona, Florida. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
